Our Wicked Past: Historic Crimes and Mishaps
(in Wild Northwest King County!) New
Exhibit: Learn about
solved and unsolved crimes in untamed Northwest King County of the early to
mid-1900's. You'll be amazed! Join us on Saturday September 20 at
1:00 PM when crime historian Tom Hitzroth will discuss a local cold
case file and its possible solution - the Kenmore Bridge Murder.
In the Shoreline - Lake Forest Park Arts Council
Gallery, The Works of Ray Gerring. Splendid paintings that
will make you feel alive!
Three floors of exhibits focusing on
the history of the Lake Forest Park, Shoreline, and North Seattle area.
Note: The building is wheelchair accessible
via ramp and elevator. Rest rooms are located on the main floor and are
wheelchair accessible.

Celebrate Shoreline Cruise In Car Show
-
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The Car Show is held at the Ridgecrest
Elementary School Parking Lot at 16516 - 10th Avenue NE.
Directions to the Car Show: Traveling South on I-5, exit at
175th St. in Shoreline. Turn left at the bottom of the exit (east).
At 10th Avenue NE turn right. At NE 165th St. turn left. Ridgecrest
School is on left, and the Parking Lot is in the center of the block on the
left.
Traveling North on I-5, exit at 175th St.
in Shoreline. Turn right at the bottom of the exit (east). At 10th
Avenue NE turn right. At NE 165th St. turn left. Ridgecrest School
is on left, and the Parking Lot is in the center of the block on the left.

Hands-on Days
Hands-on days held the Fourth
Saturday of each month. Please drop in from 11am to 3pm for fun, free projects
for children ages 4 to 12. (Notes: June event is at the Shoreline/Lake
Forest Park Arts Festival, November and December events are the third,
not fourth, Saturday.)
June 28 and 29 - Special Hands on Day Weekend
at the Shoreline Lake Forest Park Arts Festival!
Come over to the Shoreline Center and enjoy learning
how to do historical rubbings, and many other fun hands-on things at the
festival!
July 26 - Learn how to make
traditional Lanterns just in time for the Asian Moon Festival. We'll find
a unique (and safe) way to light them!
August 23 - Make your own "Scarecrow"
and find out how this tradition got started - and if it really does "scare the
crows."

Children’s Librarian Aarene Storms Presents:
Uphill Both Ways - stories of childhood in the old Pacific Northwest
What was life like for kids in the old Pacific Northwest? Come and hear
stories from the early days!
AND - Our Special Back-to-School Hands-On -
learn to make a real book strap, just like the ones Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer
used!

November 15, 2008 - Annual Meeting, Trillium Award Winners
and Grand Opening of the exhibit Mareen Kruckeberg: A Botanical
Legacy for the Washington State Community Board Meetings - third Wednesday
of each month. Open to the public.
